Hebrews 9:11-28

"Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins."
~Hebrews 9:22 b

This section of Hebrews talks about the redemption of sinners by the blood of Christ. Hebrews 9:22 says it clearly. If Christ had not died we would still be striving under the law, sacrificing animals to cover our sin.

"For life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it for you on the altar to make atonement for your souls, for it is the blood that makes atonement for the life."
~Leviticus 17:11

But Jesus died to cover the sins of humanity. He spilled His blood on the altar to save us from our sin. His lifeblood poured out on the cross, the way the lambs, rams, and other animals did for the Israelites in the Old Testament. The difference is His is sufficient to cover all our sins and we do not have to sacrifice over and over again.

Thank You, Jesus for shedding Your blood for me.
