Isaiah 53:7-9

"He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
yet He opened not His mouth;
like a lamb that is led to the slaughter,
and like a sheep before shearers is silent,
so He opened not His mouth.
By oppression and judgement He was taken away;
And as for His generation, who considered
that He was cut off out of the land of the living,
stricken for the transgression of my people?
And they made His grave with the wicked,
and with a rich  man in His death,
although He had done no violence,
and there was no deceit in His mouth."

Jesus did nothing wrong. NOTHING! Even as He was wrongly accused and sentenced to the most gruesome death in history, He remained silent, like a lamb, and did not commit violence against His accusers.

We are the ones at fault. We are the ones to blame. We are sinners, corrupt, violent, speaking arrogantly or falsely, living according to the flesh. We deserve this death, the one He gladly took for us. Thank You, Jesus, for taking my death for me. You alone are my saving grace. Help me to live like You.
